The Ramp

from £40.00

My father used to work for Midland Bank in the centre of Birmingham (seen here on the left), sometimes on the front desk just off the ramp, sometimes in the car park underneath. During many jaunts to Brum in the mid-eighties, clothes shopping with my sister, the ramp seemed like the epicentre of the city, and is the first thing people would see when emerging from New Street station via the shopping centre. In homage to my dad, he is featured here, in his maroon Ford Escort MK1, a car that was stolen twice; once from the centre of Brum, once from outside our house while I watched on!

Paper size A4 21cm X 29.7cm/Image size approx 19cm X 25cm

Paper size A3 29.7cm X 42cm/Image size approx 26cm X 35cm

A Giclée print is a high quality archival inkjet print. The word Giclée (pronounced ‘Jee-Klay’ with a soft J), comes from the French verb ‘gicler’ meaning ‘to squirt, spurt, or spray’. In average daylight conditions, the print has a life expectancy of 80 years. In dark storage archival conditions, life expectancy is 200 years!
